The small town of Moyvillers, in the Oise, was, for two days, on the 26th and 27th of October, the capital of the sugar beet industry thanks to Betteravenir 2016, the European sugar beet field exhibition organized by the French Sugar beet Institute (ITB) and the Royal Belgium Institute for Sugar beet (IRBAB).
The end of the European quota system is soon to come and the environmental restrictions are getting more complex. In this strongly evolving context, Betteravenir will bring together both the agricultural and agroindustrial sectors, to give practical solutions for the future. The event will take place the 26th and 27th of October in Moyvillers, in the Oise region, in France.
CIBE takes part in the AgroCycle project, a Sino-EU collaborative research venture, funded by the European Commission under its Horizon 2020 programme to create a protocol for the implementation of the 'circular economy' across the agri-food sector.

The French Beet Technical Institute ITB (Insitut Technique de la Betterave) explains in a video the importance of mechanical weeding.

The Polish sugar beet Association KZPBC organised a Conference in Poznan, Poland, regarding the perspectives of sugar beet.
Other campaign starts as expected during the next two weeks. Across the Nordzucker Group, the Campaign begins: average yields and shorter processing times are expected.
ECONOMIC AND POLICY ADVISOR
Under the supervision and coordination of the Director, the Economic and Policy Advisor will:
- Liaise with members, preparing and developing working papers for meetings.
